Bayt Al-Qahwah introduces Yemeni coffee to Greensprings

Bayt Al-Qahwah is now open in Homewood, bringing traditional Yemeni coffee culture to the Birmingham area along with something many local cafés don’t offer: late-night hours.

The new shop is currently operating under a soft opening schedule and is already drawing attention for its unique drinks and Middle Eastern pastries.

What Bayt Al-Qahwah serves

The menu highlights Yemeni and regional coffee and tea traditions that may be new to some customers. Drinks include Saudi coffee made with saffron and cardamom, Yemeni mint tea, Adeni tea with cream and spices, and Mofowar, a medium roast blended with cardamom and cream.

To pair with the beverages, the café offers a selection of Middle Eastern pastries such as baklawa, basbossa, kunafa, sabaya and fatayer.

Late-night coffee in Homewood

One of Bayt Al-Qahwah’s standout features is its extended evening schedule. The café is open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and stays open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a convenient option for late-night studying, remote work or relaxed evening meetups. These hours are part of the soft opening and may be updated as the business settles in.

Where to find it

Bayt Al-Qahwah is located near the Publix at Edgemont Town Center in Homewood. The café sources its beans from local farmers in Yemen, aiming to showcase the country’s coffee heritage through each cup. Job applications and updates are currently being shared through the shop’s Instagram account.

Bayt Al-Qahwah is located at 425 Green Springs Hwy, Suite 141, in Homewood. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 1 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to midnight.
