Big Bad Breakfast heads to Cahaba Heights

Popular Southern breakfast chain Big Bad Breakfast will open a new location in Cahaba Heights on September 13, expanding its presence in the Birmingham metro area.

New Home for a Growing Brand

The restaurant will serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 4317 Dolly Ridge Road, Suite 101, taking over the former Biscuit Love space at Parkside at Dolly Ridge. This marks the eighth Alabama location and the 25th restaurant overall for the brand.

From Oxford to the Iron City

Founded in Oxford, Mississippi, in 2008 by James Beard Award–winning chef John Currence, Big Bad Breakfast is known for scratch-made Southern classics and creative morning fare. The Birmingham area welcomed its first location on U.S. 280 in 2014, followed by openings in Homewood and on Montgomery Highway.

A Perfect Fit for Cahaba Heights

Currence said he’s eager to serve the neighborhood, calling Cahaba Heights “the perfect next chapter” for the expanding restaurant group. Other Alabama locations include Florence, Madison, Mobile, and Tuscaloosa, with the concept now spread across multiple southern states.

Big Bad Breakfast’s newest outpost continues its mission to deliver hearty, made-from-scratch meals that celebrate the flavors of the South.
