Birmingham’s Good Hands Transport expands statewide

Birmingham-based Good Hands Transport is expanding its services statewide, launching comprehensive passenger transportation across Alabama on October 22. The company focuses on non-emergency medical transport, employment travel, and leisure trips, aiming to reduce transportation disparities for vulnerable populations.

Statewide expansion

Founded in June 2024, Good Hands Transport received a Passenger Authority from the Alabama Public Service Commission on July 1, 2025. Initially serving a 50-mile radius around Birmingham, the company is now extending its reach to cover the entire state.

Services and technology

The company provides online and app-based booking, real-time scheduling, and GPS tracking. Its fleet of two vehicles ensures safety, comfort, and reliability for each ride. Founder Walker-Smith, a veteran driver, has been supporting families and children with essential transportation for the past six years, covering up to 3,000 miles per month.

Booking and accessibility

Good Hands Transport offers rides for medical appointments, work commutes, and leisure activities. To schedule a trip, passengers can visit www.goodtransport.com. The expansion reflects the company’s commitment to addressing mobility challenges statewide.
