A beloved Birmingham farm-to-table restaurant is expanding its reach with a new Cahaba Heights location opening later this month.
Brick & Tin expands to Cahaba Heights
Brick & Tin, a locally owned farm-to-table restaurant, is opening a new location in Cahaba Heights by the end of February. The new spot at 3151 Green Valley Road in Market Square Shopping Center replaces the former Cadence Steamer, which closed in early 2025.
Owner Mauricio Papapietro emphasized the restaurant’s focus on scratch-made food, using ingredients from local farmers and breads baked in-house. “We try to really bring good, wholesome food into people’s everyday lives,” Papapietro said.
Menu highlights and farm-to-table philosophy
The restaurant’s menu features seasonal sandwiches, soups, and salads made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Fan favorites include the Brisket Panini, Chick & Tin sandwich, mushroom and butternut squash soups, and a variety of fresh salads.
Papapietro spent a decade training under renowned chefs Frank Stitt and Chris Hastings, shaping the culinary approach that defines Brick & Tin.
Growing Birmingham-area presence
Brick & Tin opened its first downtown Birmingham location in 2010, expanded to Mountain Brook in 2014, and recently launched a new Huntsville spot in December 2025. The Cahaba Heights location will mark its third Birmingham-area location and fourth overall in Alabama, bringing the restaurant’s farm-to-table approach closer to Vestavia Hills residents.
Current Alabama locations:
Downtown Birmingham — 214 20th St N, Birmingham, AL 35203
Mountain Brook — 2901 Cahaba Rd, Mountain Brook, AL 35223
Huntsville — 222 Washington St NE, Huntsville, AL 35801
The Cahaba Heights location aims to serve both longtime fans and new customers in the surrounding area.
