East 59 Cafe will close its cafe inside the Hoover Public Library on October 24, the library announced on its Facebook page.
Limited Menu Until Closure
Until the closure, a limited selection of menu items will remain available. The library said it will continue partnering with East 59 at their Lee Branch location for programming and access to the remote book locker. The library also noted plans to seek a new partner for the cafe space in the coming months.

Library patrons expressed disappointment over the closure, sharing memories of the cozy cafe. “This place helped get me through my master’s degree,” wrote Marilyn Smith, reflecting the role the cafe played in the community.

East 59 will continue operations at its Lee Branch location, maintaining its presence in Hoover while the library explores future options for the vacated cafe space.
