Four popular restaurants coming to Hwy. 280 by year-end

Four popular restaurants are set to open on Highway 280 in Shelby County by the end of 2025. The new Valley Post development, a six-acre dining and entertainment complex, will bring local and regional favorites to the area.

Popular dining options heading to Valley Post

Located at 1012 Dunnavant Valley Road, across from the Dunnavant Valley Soccer Fields, the project is a collaboration between Mike Mouron, Capstone Real Estate Development, and The Pihakis Restaurant Group (PRG).

The four restaurants include Rodney Scott’s BBQ, the James Beard Award-winning pitmaster’s brand; Hero Doughnuts, known for its breakfast and doughnut offerings; Little Donkey, a Homewood favorite blending Mexican food with Southern soul; and Luca & Lucy, offering Italian-inspired dishes.

More than just restaurants

Valley Post will also serve as a community gathering spot, with outdoor patios, green spaces, and areas for viewing sporting events and screenings. The development aims to create a central hub for residents and visitors beyond the dining experience.

Jobs and development timeline

The restaurants are currently hiring up to 200 employees to meet the planned opening by the end of 2025. The project reflects PRG’s goal to bring “home-grown” brands to growing communities outside of central Birmingham. Additional information on the development and employment opportunities is available at valley-post.com.
