Genghis Bowl is expanding to Trussville, with plans to open a new Mongolian grill and sushi restaurant at Trussville Crossings Parkway next to Regal Trussville theaters.
Where the restaurant will be located
The new Genghis Bowl will move into the former Palace restaurant space at 5899 Trussville Crossings Pkwy. The Palace is expected to reopen in February at a new location across Chalkville Mountain Road near Ollie’s, clearing the way for Genghis Bowl’s arrival in the shopping center.
What diners can expect
Genghis Bowl will offer a Mongolian-style barbecue experience where guests choose their meats, vegetables, and sauces from a raw bar before having their meals cooked to order.
In addition to the grill concept, the restaurant plans to feature a full sushi menu, along with appetizers, salads, desserts, and familiar Asian-inspired dishes like teriyaki chicken or beef, miso soup, seafood options, and both fried and traditional sushi rolls. Entrées are expected to be priced in the $12–$13 range.
Opening timeline and hours
An official opening date has not yet been announced. According to the restaurant, it plans to serve lunch and dinner seven days a week. On weekdays, Genghis Bowl will operate a lunch shift and a dinner shift, closing briefly from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. to reset, with continuous service planned on Saturdays and Sundays.
