Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB has finished a comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation, updating its 295 guestrooms, 16,000 square feet of event space, restaurant, and adding a new fitness center.
Renovation modernizes guestrooms and event spaces
The project, led by CCR Architecture & Interiors and constructed by P&M Construction, revitalized every guestroom with contemporary furnishings and upgraded finishes. Event spaces, including the ballroom and meeting rooms, were redesigned with enhanced technology to accommodate corporate events, fundraisers, and university gatherings.
New dining concept highlights local flavors
The hotel introduced Blazer’s Grill, led by Executive Chef Bryan Williams. The restaurant emphasizes regional cuisine and reflects UAB’s vibrant community, serving students, alumni, and visitors to Birmingham.
Enhanced amenities and guest experience
Additional upgrades include an outdoor pool, 24-hour fitness center, free WiFi, a coffee shop, and pet-friendly accommodations. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle within a one-mile radius and to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
“This renovation reaffirms our hotel’s position on the UAB campus and within the Birmingham community,” said General Manager Lisa Castagna. Hilton Birmingham at UAB is offering Hilton Honors Bonus Points and special meeting planner perks, including double rewards and waived setup fees, for events booked through December 31, 2025.
