Historic Morris Ave property sold for $1.54M

A well-known historic property on Morris Avenue has officially changed hands. The two-story building at 2024 Morris Ave, previously home to bridal boutique Heidi Elnora Atelier, was sold on July 8 for $1.54 million. According to public records, the buyer is Burrow and Bloom Bham LLC.

From Bridal Boutique to New Beginnings

The seller, Birmingham designer and entrepreneur Heidi Baker, closed her boutique in August 2024 after stepping away from the bridal industry. The Morris Ave building had served as the home base for her business for nearly a decade. On social media, Baker shared that she sold the restored building to another woman entrepreneur, expressing pride in preserving the structure’s historic charm rather than seeing it replaced by another parking structure.

A New Owner with Creative Roots

Burrow and Bloom Bham LLC is connected to Sydney Foote of Shelby County, whose background includes business ventures in marketing and consulting. While the future of the space has yet to be announced, the building is set for a fresh purpose under Foote’s ownership.

A Sign of Growth on Morris Ave

Originally constructed in 1891, the 8,100+ square-foot building had once fallen into disrepair before Baker renovated it in 2015. It now sits adjacent to Still Johnson Interiors and near The Kelly hotel—right in the heart of Birmingham’s revitalized Morris Avenue corridor.

The sale adds to a growing list of developments in the area. Pizza Grace recently changed ownership at Mercantile on Morris, and 234 Boutique is expected to open later this year. Nearby, Wooden City, a new restaurant and bar, welcomed diners this past February.

As more entrepreneurs and businesses invest in Morris Ave, the area continues to blend Birmingham’s rich architectural past with new creative energy.
