A Birmingham-area breakfast spot has closed after six years in business, marking another change for the growing regional chain.
Maple Street Biscuit Co. Closes in Homewood
Maple Street Biscuit Company on 18th Street South in Homewood is no longer operating and has been removed from the company’s website. The restaurant was known for its signature biscuits, waffles, breakfast bowls and tacos, including its popular“Five and Dime” sandwich featuring fried chicken, egg and gravy.
Other Alabama locations in Madison, Mobile and Daphne remain open.
Owned by Cracker Barrel
Maple Street Biscuit Company is owned by Cracker Barrel, which acquired the Florida-based brand in 2019 for $36 million in an all-cash deal. At the time, the purchase included 28 company-owned and five franchise restaurants across seven states.
The Homewood location previously operated as Hollar & Dash before being converted under the Maple Street brand following the acquisition.
Part of Broader Closures
The closure comes after the company shut down 14 underperforming locations nationwide last year as part of a broader evaluation of its portfolio.
While the Homewood restaurant has closed, the chain continues to operate in multiple Alabama markets and other states.
