Lapeer Steak & Seafood, a Georgia-based restaurant known for its focus on steakhouse classics and fresh seafood, is opening a new location in Birmingham. The restaurant is set to debut Nov. 3 at The Hardwick, a mixed-use development along the Rotary Trail.
Expanding to Alabama
The Birmingham restaurant will be Lapeer’s first location outside Georgia. The Alpharetta-based concept is operated by Maven Restaurant Group, which also owns Butcher & Brew Halcyon in Forsyth, Ga.
Culinary Direction and Menu
Tuscaloosa native Blake Hartley will serve as chef and culinary director for the Birmingham location, a role he also holds at the Alpharetta flagship. The menu is expected to feature a mix of steakhouse staples and seafood, with options ranging from Wagyu and ribeye to Gulf red snapper and whole branzino. A raw bar, starters, cocktails and an extensive wine list will also be part of the dining experience.
Design and Location
The Hardwick, a 110-year-old warehouse redevelopment, is quickly becoming a destination for restaurants and retail. The 6,500-square-foot Lapeer space will include a lounge, multiple dining rooms, a private dining area and outdoor space. Interiors will feature a dark, moody design with custom furnishings, wood accents and two wine cages as focal points.
The Birmingham opening follows other tenants at The Hardwick, including Ballard Designs and Epice, a Nashville-based bistro.
