Sierra, a national discount retailer specializing in active and outdoor brands, is opening its first Alabama location next to Trader Joe’s on Montgomery Highway in Hoover.

No official opening date has been announced. A sign at the site currently reads “Coming Soon” with the company’s logo. The store will carry a range of discounted apparel, footwear, and outdoor gear.
About Sierra
Founded in 1986, Sierra is part of TJX Companies, the nation’s largest off-price retailer of clothing and home fashions. TJX also owns T.J. Maxx, Marshall’s, and HomeGoods. Sierra operates more than 100 stores across the United States, and this will be its first presence in Alabama.
The new Hoover location reflects the company’s ongoing expansion into new markets and its strategy of bringing value-driven outdoor and active brands to underserved regions.
