Pantera cancels Birmingham concert after Ozzy Osbourne’s death

Metal fans in Alabama will have to wait to see Pantera live. The band has canceled its Sept. 8 performance at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, following the recent death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Known for their intense sound and influential albums throughout the 1990s, Pantera had planned a major tour this summer.

However, the death of Osbourne on July 22, at age 76, led the band to make several changes to their schedule. Osbourne had been battling Parkinson’s disease in recent years.

Tour Schedule Adjustments

In addition to canceling the Birmingham date, Pantera postponed concerts in New York and New Jersey that were originally scheduled for July 28 and 31. The band has not yet announced whether the Birmingham concert will be rescheduled or permanently canceled.

A Moment of Mourning in Rock

Osbourne, co-founder of Black Sabbath, played a pivotal role in shaping heavy metal and influencing generations of musicians, including Pantera. His passing marked the end of an era and prompted tributes from across the music world.
