Southwest Airlines adds three new flights from Birmingham

Southwest Airlines is expanding service at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport with three new nonstop flights to major cities starting in April 2026.

More Options for Travelers

Tickets for the new routes are already on sale, according to the Birmingham Airport Authority. The additions give Birmingham fliers more choices and greater convenience when planning trips.

Expanded Service to Key Cities

Southwest will now offer two daily flights to Denver, doubling its current service. Nashville service will also increase to two daily flights. Orlando flights will rise from two to three on weekdays, improving connections to one of the most popular leisure destinations.

Stronger Connectivity Across the Network

“It’s great news for customers to have additional choices when scheduling trips,” said Kim Hunt, spokesperson for the Birmingham Airport Authority. “It also offers better connectivity to other destinations through those hubs.”

Earlier this year, Southwest also added special flights for Alabama and Auburn football fans traveling to away games, highlighting the airline’s growing commitment to the Birmingham market.
