Birmingham’s Thank You Books is set to expand its Crestwood Boulevard location this coming spring, potentially doubling its current space.
Expansion plans for Crestwood bookstore
The store, celebrating its sixth anniversary this December, has signed a lease for the adjoining unit previously occupied by The Total Joint Physical Therapy, which relocated within Crestwood Village Shopping Center.
Co-owner Kristen Iskandrian said the expansion will be completed by early spring 2026. This marks the first major growth since 2021, when the bookstore enlarged its children’s section.
More room for inventory and offerings
Iskandrian said the additional space will allow the store’s inventory to “breathe” and offer room for expanded selections. The store plans to maintain its current offerings while taking advantage of the increased floor space.
Design and next steps
The new space will be designed by Morgan Sowards, with preparations underway to open by spring 2026. Customers can expect a larger, more comfortable layout when the expansion is finished.
