The Filling Station plans second location in Gardendale

The Filling Station, a Crestwood favorite, is expanding to Gardendale.

Why Gardendale Was the Choice

The new location at 250 City Street sits near UAB Medicine Gardendale Primary & Specialty Care, hotels, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Owner Bobby Lorino said when former employee Josh Brakefield suggested the spot, it was an easy decision. “Gardendale is growing, and nothing like this is out there,” Lorino said. Brakefield will be the primary owner of the Gardendale restaurant, with Lorino as co-owner.

Menu Highlights and Authenticity

The Filling Station is known for its Italian dishes and scratch-made items. They make dough, marinara, meatballs, olive bread, and even white chocolate bread pudding. Guests can enjoy pizza, flatbreads, calzones, stromboli, pasta, sandwiches, burgers, hoagies, and more. The Crestwood location has become a neighborhood hub for local beers, live music, and outdoor dining.

Hours, Contact, and Specials

The restaurant will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Patrons can try weekday lunch specials like spaghetti with a homemade meatball or grilled chicken pasta for $10. Wednesday night pasta dinners include half-priced bottles of house wine paired with favorites like stuffed ravioli or spaghetti and meatballs.
