Vineyard Vines closes its doors at The Summit

The Summit location had been a fixture in Birmingham since opening. The company, founded in 1998 on Martha’s Vineyard, built its reputation on stylish, casual, and coastal-inspired apparel.

After more than a decade, the store officially closed, ending its long presence in the Magic City’s retail scene.

About Vineyard Vines

Vineyard Vines was started by brothers Shep and Ian, who left office jobs to chase their dream of creating a clothing brand. They launched the company on Martha’s Vineyard and grew it into a nationally recognized preppy lifestyle brand.

Over the years, the company celebrated a variety of stories and lifestyles through its website, featuring adventures, coastal culture, and fashion. The Summit store carried the brand’s full range of clothing, accessories, and seasonal collections.

Future for customers and brand

While the Summit location is now closed, Vineyard Vines continues to operate other stores and maintain an online presence. Fans can still shop collections online or visit other retail locations in the U.S.

The closure reflects broader retail trends, but the brand’s legacy of casual, coastal style continues to influence preppy fashion nationwide.
