Earlier this summer, Creole Connection across from Legion Field closed its doors. Just two months later, the restaurant has rebranded and reopened as Bayou on 8th, offering a refreshed identity and an expanded menu.
New Name, Same Cajun Roots
While the restaurant has a new look, it continues to serve authentic Cajun-inspired dishes with an elevated twist. Customers can expect New Orleans-style appetizers, hearty entrées, and a full craft cocktail list. On Sundays, Bayou on 8th also serves brunch favorites such as chicken and waffles, hash, and eggs Benedict.
Highlights from the Menu
Standout dishes include the Big Easy Alfredo, a creamy pasta with Cajun grilled chicken and Conecuh sausage; the Red Bean Royale, featuring slow-simmered red beans, sausage, and smoked turkey over rice; Shrimp & Grits Supreme, topped with rich Creole cream; and the Crawfish Cast-Iron, bubbling with roasted peppers, cheese, and garlic butter crostini. Lunch portions of select entrées are also available for quick midday meals.
