Cold Stone Creamery eyes expansion in Birmingham Metro

A popular national ice cream brand is eyeing major growth in the Birmingham metro area over the next few years.

Cold Stone plans Birmingham-area expansion

Cold Stone Creamery announced plans to open as many as six new locations across the Birmingham metro within the next three years. To make that happen, the Arizona-based brand is actively looking for local franchise partners.

Currently, Cold Stone operates one metro-area location in Trussville. In addition, it has Alabama stores in Huntsville, Dothan and Albertville. The company is also preparing to open a new location in Auburn.

Franchise opportunities and job growth

According to Brand Leader Blake Borwick, the expansion aims to create new jobs while supporting local entrepreneurs. He said the company plans to bring strong franchise support to Birmingham-area business owners who want to invest in their communities.

Notably, Cold Stone is open to first-time franchisees as well as experienced multi-unit operators.

A global brand with local focus

Founded more than 30 years ago, Cold Stone Creamery operates nearly 1,500 locations worldwide in about 30 countries.

However, each store is locally owned and operated, which allows franchisees to stay involved in community events and charitable efforts.

As a result, the brand hopes its Birmingham-area growth will deliver both sweet treats and meaningful local impact.
