Federal reserve appoints new directors to Birmingham Branch Board

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta has announced new appointments to its Birmingham Branch board of directors. Samuel T. “Beau” Benton has been appointed by the Board of Governors, while L. Davis Ozier has been reappointed by the Atlanta Board of Directors. Both will serve three-year terms ending December 31, 2028.

New and Returning Directors

Benton is president of LBA Hospitality in Dothan, Alabama, and serves as board chair of the Wiregrass Foundation. He is a graduate of Auburn University. Ozier, president of Coosa Composites in Pelham, Alabama, holds degrees from Vanderbilt University and the University of Virginia.

Birmingham Branch Board Overview

The Birmingham Branch board provides economic insights from local industries and the region to help inform monetary policy and discount rate decisions. Three directors are appointed by the Board of Governors, and four are appointed by the Atlanta head office.

 

The remaining board members and their terms include:

Samuel Addy, associate dean at the Culverhouse College of Business, University of Alabama (term expires 12/31/26)

Hafiz Chandiwala, executive VP, Coca Cola Bottling Company United Inc., Birmingham (term expires 12/31/26)

Michelle Lewis, CFO, AAA Cooper Transportation, Dothan (term expires 12/31/27)

Larry Lewis, president, PROJECTXYZ Inc., Huntsville (term expires 12/31/27)

Michael D. Ross, president & CEO, CBS Banc-Corp., Russellville (term expires 12/31/27)
