Alabama shoppers can now visit the state’s first Urban Planet store at Riverchase Galleria in Hoover.
Affordable Fashion Arrives at the Galleria
Urban Planet by Charlotte Russe officially opened on July 11, 2026, inside Riverchase Galleria. The new store occupies the former Forever 21 location on the mall’s first level, near Inspiration Co. and Victoria’s Secret.
The retailer focuses on affordable fashion for teens and young adults. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of clothing and accessories, including dresses, graphic T-shirts, denim, fleece, athletic wear, jewelry, purses, shoes, bags, and men’s apparel.
Store manager Janay Headen said the team aims to deliver a welcoming shopping experience by treating every customer like family and providing attentive service.
Store Location and Hours
Urban Planet is located at 2000 Riverchase Galleria, Hoover, AL 35244. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Sundays, customers can shop from noon until 6 p.m.
The brand has built a strong presence in Canada, where it operates more than 200 locations. The Hoover store becomes its first location in Alabama and one of only a small number of stores across the United States.
Riverchase Galleria Continues to Add New Retailers
Riverchase Galleria continues to welcome new businesses despite being listed for sale earlier in 2026. Over the past year, the shopping center has added major retailers, including JD Sports in August 2025 and Urban Planet in July 2026.
The Hoover shopping destination remains one of the largest malls in the Southeast. It features nearly 150 stores, along with a hotel, office space, and its well-known indoor carousel.
City leaders also remain focused on the mall’s future. Hoover Mayor Nick Derzis has said the city continues to pursue opportunities that will strengthen the Galleria and restore it as a major shopping and economic destination for the region.
