Zad Mediterranean Cuisine recently opened at 2760 John Hawkins Parkway, Suite 112, in Hoover. The restaurant focuses on made-to-order dishes influenced by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking.
The menu includes familiar favorites such as kabobs, shawarma, kafta, and shish tawook. At the same time, diners can explore less common Yemeni-inspired dishes.
What to Try at Zad Mediterranean Cuisine
Among the menu options is maqaniq, a lamb sausage dish with Middle Eastern roots. The restaurant also serves chicken shawarma salad, quail, and lamb pies.
Another specialty is ghallaba. The dish combines sautéed vegetables with tomatoes and spices for a hearty Middle Eastern-inspired meal.
Other options include shakshuka, foul, fassolia, and lahm sighar. The menu brings together Mediterranean grilled meats and traditional Yemeni flavors.
