Birmingham-based contractor Robins & Morton has completed a major behavioral healthcare expansion in Oklahoma City.
New Cedar Ridge Facility Opens
Robins & Morton recently completed the expansion of Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The new facility sits on the hospital’s existing campus.
The single-story building covers 68,593 square feet. It also adds 90 beds to the hospital. Of those beds, 30 will serve adolescent patients.
The expansion will help Cedar Ridge serve more people who need behavioral healthcare. In addition, it adds space for patients, staff, and hospital programs.
Facility Includes Patient and Activity Spaces
The new building features several areas for patient care and daily activities. It includes a kitchen and dining area. Patients can also use a half-court gym and activity therapy spaces.
The facility also includes administrative offices. These spaces will support the hospital’s staff and day-to-day operations.
Meanwhile, Robins & Morton served as the general contractor. Stengel Hill Architecture handled the project’s architectural work.
Project Expands Access to Behavioral Healthcare
Robins & Morton Operations Manager Ashley Dyer said the opening marks an important milestone. She also highlighted the team’s focus on expanding access to behavioral healthcare.
Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital CEO Cesiley Bouseman also welcomed the expansion. According to Bouseman, additional capacity can help the hospital serve more patients and families.
Overall, the project adds significant healthcare space to the Oklahoma City campus. It also highlights the work of Birmingham companies on major projects beyond Alabama.
