Dimples Flowers has officially opened its first permanent storefront in Woodlawn, marking a new chapter for one of Birmingham’s favorite local flower businesses.
From Flower Truck to Woodlawn Storefront
The new shop celebrated its grand opening on August 29 at 5528 1st Avenue South in Birmingham’s Woodlawn neighborhood. Owner Kendyl Jones built the business through the popular Dimples flower truck, which regularly served customers outside June Coffee in downtown Birmingham and Soho Social in Homewood.
Now, the brick-and-mortar location gives customers a dedicated space to shop for fresh flowers year-round. The opening also reflects the continued growth of small businesses in the Woodlawn district.
What Shoppers Can Expect
The Woodlawn flower shop offers a variety of floral services for everyday occasions and special events. Customers can order custom floral arrangements, create their own bouquets, browse seasonal stem selections, or place floral orders for weddings and other celebrations.
In addition, the storefront was supported by Rev Birmingham, an organization that helps revitalize commercial districts and support local businesses.
Poppy the Flower Truck Is Staying Around
Although Dimples now has a permanent location, the beloved “Poppy” flower truck is not disappearing. The business plans to continue its regular Friday evening appearances at Soho Social while also using the truck for select special events throughout the Birmingham area.
Dimples Flowers is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturdays, the shop welcomes customers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The storefront is located at 5528 1st Avenue South in Woodlawn.
