The coffee brand Cala Coffee has opened its newest café in Mountain Brook Village, bringing its signature coffee experience and expanded menu to the area.
New Location Opens in Former Retail Space
Cala Coffee’s third location is now open in Mountain Brook Village inside a space that previously housed Suite Dreams, a custom home goods store that closed in 2024. The new café was announced in late 2025 by owners Josh and Melanie Cosio.
The shop continues the brand’s growth from a small home roasting operation into multiple cafés, a coffee cart, a roasting warehouse, and a wholesale program. Each new location has expanded the company’s presence across the Birmingham area while keeping its original focus on community and quality coffee.
Menu Partnerships and Offerings
The Mountain Brook café offers the same core coffee program found at Cala’s other locations, including house-roasted blends and espresso drinks. It also features food collaborations that set it apart from other stores. Ladybird Tacos provides fresh taco options, while Bandit Pâtisserie supplies baked goods and pastries.
In addition to coffee, the menu includes matcha drinks, food options, and select wine offerings. The concept is designed to appeal to a wide range of customers beyond traditional coffee drinkers.
Location and Operating Hours
The new café is located at 2409 Montevallo Road in Mountain Brook Village. It operates Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cala Coffee continues to emphasize a welcoming atmosphere, curated music, and partnerships that support both food and beverage variety. The brand positions itself as a community-focused space where customers can find options for different tastes throughout the day.
