Two familiar women’s fashion retailers are preparing to return to The Summit in Birmingham, bringing updated storefronts and renewed retail options to the shopping center by the end of 2026.
Talbots Returns With Larger, Refreshed Storefront
Talbots is set to reopen at The Summit with a redesigned space of approximately 8,700 square feet. The store will be located in the plaza corridor between LOFT and The Woodhouse Day Spa, placing it in a central retail area of the shopping center.
Once it reopens, the Birmingham location will serve as the brand’s only store in the metro area and one of just a few statewide.
The return follows the brand’s closure in late 2024, marking a renewed presence in the local retail market.
White House Black Market Also Expands Presence
White House Black Market will also return to The Summit with a 2,900-square-foot storefront located near Talbots and LOFT.
The store’s placement creates a clustered retail presence for women’s fashion brands within the same corridor of the shopping center.
This location will be the brand’s second store in Alabama and its only store in the Birmingham market. Like Talbots, it previously closed in 2024 before planning its return.
The Summit Continues Retail Refresh
Both stores are expected to reopen by late 2026, according to updates shared by The Summit. Construction activity and signage have already appeared at the site, signaling progress toward reopening.
The return of both brands reflects ongoing changes and reinvestment in The Summit’s retail mix, particularly in the women’s apparel category.
