The upcoming ice cream shop Scoop City is preparing to open at The Edge in Homewood, adding a new dessert option to the popular outdoor food hall.
New Dessert Concept Joins The Edge
Scoop City will open inside The Edge, a multi-use food and gathering space in Homewood. The project expands the venue’s growing mix of restaurants, cafés, and dessert vendors. While an official opening date has not been announced, the shop is expected to launch soon.
The addition follows the closure of Ice C’s, a previous dessert tenant at The Edge. Community response to that closure was emotional, but the transition has paved the way for a new concept focused on frozen treats and creative flavors.
Ownership and Hospitality Background
Scoop City is owned by Chef Nick Carpenter through Tuff Love Hospitality. The group operates several other local food businesses, including The Que*Bicle at The Edge, Porky’s Pride Smokehouse in Warrior, Nicky’s Sammie Shack, and Ice C’s, which recently closed.
The new shop continues the company’s focus on casual dining and community-centered food experiences. The Edge itself already features a mix of tenants that include restaurants, coffee shops, and fitness-related businesses, creating a diverse neighborhood-style destination.
The Edge Continues to Expand Its Mix of Tenants
The Edge at 819 Green Springs Highway hosts several established businesses, including B’ham Burger, Baba Java Coffee, Corbeau Wine Bar, Shin Ramen Noodle, The Heavenly Donut Co., and True40.
Scoop City adds to this growing lineup and strengthens the food hall’s dessert offerings. Once open, it will join a busy mix of dining and social spaces designed to attract visitors throughout the day and evening.
