One of the South’s most prominent technology conferences is returning to Birmingham this summer, bringing together entrepreneurs, developers, investors, and creatives for three days of programming and networking.
Birmingham Continues to Grow as a Tech Hub
Sloss Tech, presented by Innovate Alabama and organized by TechBirmingham, has grown into a major regional event focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. Originally created to highlight Birmingham’s tech talent, the conference now attracts more than 1,400 attendees from across the Southeast and beyond.
The event supports a wide range of participants, including startup founders seeking funding and partnerships, business leaders focused on regional innovation, engineers and developers looking for technical learning opportunities, and students exploring careers in the tech industry. Specialized programming also connects community members through developer-focused sessions and early-career initiatives.
Speakers and Industry Leaders Head to Birmingham
This year’s conference features several well-known figures in technology, branding, and entrepreneurship. Among the featured speakers are Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter, and Talia Cotton, founder of a creative agency that has worked with major tech companies including OpenAI and Microsoft. Strategic advisor Amanda Sabreah is also scheduled to speak, sharing insights on brand development and business growth in competitive industries.
These sessions are expected to highlight trends in innovation, startup growth, and the evolving digital economy, offering attendees direct access to leaders shaping the future of tech.
Downtown Birmingham Becomes a Citywide Conference Experience
Sloss Tech will take place across multiple downtown Birmingham venues, turning the city into a connected conference space. Events will be hosted at locations such as the Lyric Theatre, McWane Center, and Sloss Furnaces, blending formal programming with interactive experiences.
The schedule includes pitch competitions, startup showcases, networking lounges, and outdoor community events. Additional programming such as Sloss Tech Sounds, Sloss Tech Recess, and the Founder & Funder Lounge will run throughout the three-day event. A developer-focused track will also be held in partnership with local tech communities.
The conference runs from Wednesday, June 24 through Friday, June 26. Ticket options include general admission, VIP access, and a developer-focused pass, with pricing structured for different attendee needs. Organizers encourage comfortable, casual attire as participants move between venues across downtown.
