A new 24-hour diner is set to open in Birmingham’s Five Points South neighborhood, promising affordable food and a simple, classic dining experience.
New 24-Hour Diner Planned for Five Points South
Karma’s Kitchen is preparing to open in the Five Points South area, next to Ocean restaurant, with a target launch date around mid-July. The concept was announced by owner Dan Williams, who also owns Dave’s Pub.
The diner will operate around the clock, serving breakfast 24/7 along with additional menu items throughout the day and night. From late morning through early overnight hours, the menu will include burgers, patty melts, and other diner-style favorites. The restaurant will also offer weekday plate lunches from Monday through Friday. Alcohol will not be served.
Focus on Affordable, Simple Dining
The owner has emphasized affordability as a key part of the concept, noting that the restaurant aims to keep prices accessible for everyday customers. The approach reflects an effort to offer budget-friendly meals during a time of rising living costs.
Rather than focusing on a themed or upscale experience, the diner is designed to stay straightforward. The goal is to provide a traditional diner setting where customers can order familiar meals like eggs, pancakes, and classic comfort food without added complexity.
A Return to Classic Diner Culture
Karma’s Kitchen is positioned as a no-frills dining option in a busy entertainment district. The concept focuses on convenience, simplicity, and round-the-clock service to meet demand from both daytime customers and late-night visitors in the area.
The opening adds a new late-night food option to Five Points South, a neighborhood known for its restaurants and nightlife activity.
