A new 300-unit luxury apartment community is coming to Chelsea as development continues along the growing U.S. 280 corridor.
Rivet Apartments Coming to Chelsea
Real estate developer Thompson Thrift plans to build The Rivet on nearly 29 acres along U.S. 280. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
The community will offer 300 apartment homes. Residents will have access to one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. The homes will also feature stainless-steel appliances and hardwood-style flooring.
In addition, each unit will include a full-size washer and dryer. Smart home technology and walk-in closets will also be included. Select homes will offer patios, balconies, or private yards.
Resort-Style Amenities Planned
The Rivet is planned with a wide range of amenities for residents. The community will feature a heated swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center.
Residents will also have access to a pickleball court, grilling area, and fire pit. A social space will include billiards and shuffleboard.
Pet owners will have access to a dog park and pet spa. The property will also include a business center with conference rooms and private suites. An Amazon package room is planned as well.
Chelsea Continues to Grow
The new apartment project comes as Chelsea continues to see population and commercial growth. The city now has more than 18,000 residents. Its population has grown by about 20% since 2020.
Meanwhile, several major projects are planned or underway in the area. These include a new Target near Highway 47 and the $75 million Chelsea Plaza retail development. An industrial workspace project from ForgeFlex is also planned.
Thompson Thrift said Chelsea’s location, schools, neighborhoods, and access to jobs and services make it an attractive market for new housing. The Rivet is expected to add more rental options as demand continues to grow along the U.S. 280 corridor.
