A new $30 million golf destination is coming to the Birmingham area, with construction expected to begin in Irondale this fall.
Golf House Alabama Coming to Irondale
The Alabama Golf Foundation has unveiled plans for Golf House Alabama, an 80-acre public golf facility located next to Pine Tree Golf & Country Club in Irondale. Groundbreaking is scheduled for November, and the project is expected to open in 2028.
The development will serve as a permanent headquarters for organizations that support golf across Alabama. At the same time, it will create a public space designed for players of all ages and skill levels.
What the $30 Million Project Will Include
Golf House Alabama will feature a public golf house and the Alabama Golf Hall of Fame. Visitors will also have access to a lighted 30-bay driving range equipped with TrackMan launch monitors and covered practice bays.
In addition, the campus will include a championship-style par-3 course for day and evening play, a short-game practice area, an outdoor event lawn, and dedicated instructional facilities. The project also plans an agronomy and careers center in partnership with Auburn University.
A Community Hub for the Future of Golf
The Alabama Golf Foundation was created through a partnership between the Alabama Golf Association and the PGA of America’s Alabama–Northwest Florida Section. Foundation leaders say the new campus will provide shared space for golf organizations while expanding access to the sport.
The facility is intended to welcome beginners, youth players, veterans, people with disabilities, and collegiate golf programs. Located just off Interstate 459 and Grants Mill Road, Golf House Alabama aims to become both a regional golf destination and a year-round community gathering place.
Construction of the first phase depends on a capital campaign that will fund the $30 million project.
