A community bank based in Bessemer is preparing to expand its footprint in the Birmingham metro area with a new full-service branch opening in Hoover later this year.
New Branch Planned Along Montgomery Highway
First Financial Bank is renovating a new location at 1560 Montgomery Highway in Hoover, with opening expected between August and September. City permit records show an $1.8 million renovation project for the site, which sits near the intersection of Montgomery Highway and Old Columbiana Highway.
The new branch will operate on the first floor of a nearly 10,000-square-foot building. Once open, it will become the bank’s ninth branch in Central Alabama, adding to its existing locations across Jefferson, Shelby, Bibb, and Tuscaloosa counties.
Full-Service Banking Coming to Hoover
First Financial Bank plans to offer a range of traditional banking services at the new location. These include deposit account openings and transactions, consumer and commercial lending, and safe deposit box access.
The branch will also feature a drive-thru service and an interactive teller machine designed to improve customer convenience. The bank has confirmed it is already hiring for positions at the upcoming Hoover location ahead of its opening.
Longstanding Alabama Bank Continues Expansion
Founded in 1937, First Financial Bank manages nearly $250 million in assets and continues to grow its presence across Central Alabama. The Hoover expansion reflects ongoing investment in accessible, community-based banking services.
Once completed, the new branch is expected to strengthen local access to both personal and business banking services in a high-traffic area of the city.
