The City of Birmingham has launched a new in-person community service hub in North Birmingham alongside a digital platform designed to help residents more easily access essential services and support.
North Birmingham Hub Opens at Salvation Army Location
The new North Birmingham Community Service Hub is now operating at the Salvation Army facility at 2015 26th Ave. North. The pilot location serves residents across all 99 Birmingham neighborhoods and provides in-person assistance for those seeking guidance on available public and community resources.
City officials say the hub was developed through months of community input, research, and collaboration with neighborhood leaders, service providers, and local organizations. The goal is to create a centralized place where residents can receive help navigating complex support systems.
In-Person Support and Digital Access Combined
The hub offers service navigators who assist residents in identifying programs and completing referrals for services such as housing, food assistance, healthcare, transportation, employment, and utility support. A public kiosk also connects visitors directly to the city’s online resource directory.
In addition to the physical location, the city has launched bham.findhelp.com, a free online platform that allows residents to search for thousands of local programs and services at any time. The system is designed to improve access by making resources available both online and in person.
Community-Focused Approach to Expanding Access
City leaders say the initiative was designed to reduce barriers for residents who need help but may not know where to begin. The program emphasizes coordination between government agencies, nonprofits, and community partners to improve service delivery.
The North Birmingham hub is currently open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Officials plan to use the pilot program to evaluate demand and improve future services.
Residents can visit the hub in person or use the online portal at bham.findhelp.com to explore available resources at any time.
