Five Points South has a new spot for refreshing treats with the opening of Bandida Bowls & Sips, a Latin-inspired açaí bowl and beverage concept located in Five Points Lane. The new shop adds a vibrant, health-focused option to the neighborhood’s growing food scene.
A Latin-Inspired Menu
Bandida Bowls & Sips offers a menu centered around açaí bowls, yogurt bowls, and specialty drinks with Latin flavors. Signature items include the Mangonada açaí bowl, made with an açaí base blended with mango, lime juice, fresh mango chunks, tajín, and chamoy. Other offerings include yogurt-based bowls such as the Chocobana, which features Greek yogurt, banana slices, cacao nibs, granola, and peanut butter.
The drink menu features “dirty sodas,” creative beverages that combine sodas with flavored syrups, creamers, and toppings. One example is the Bandida, a strawberry-based drink with added berries, vanilla, raspberry, creamer, and cotton candy cold foam. The shop also serves mini pancakes, including a churro-style version topped with cinnamon sugar, strawberries, and whipped cream.
A Family-Connected Concept in Five Points Lane
Bandida Bowls & Sips is owned by Stephany Chavez, who is also connected to Bandido Coffee through her brother, Raul Chavez. The two businesses share a similar Latin-inspired approach to food and beverages and are located within close proximity, making it convenient for customers to enjoy both offerings.
Location and Grand Opening
The shop is located at 1024 20th Street South, Suite 103, in Birmingham’s Five Points Lane area. Bandida Bowls & Sips operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is planning a grand opening celebration on Saturday, April 4.
