MELT, a sandwich shop with roots in the Birmingham food scene, was named the best place for grilled cheese in Alabama by food publication Tasting Table. The ranking was based on customer feedback gathered from platforms such as Yelp, Reddit, TripAdvisor, and Facebook.
The recognition highlights strong local support for the restaurant, which has built a loyal following over the years. Food lovers across the state continue to praise its signature grilled cheese for its texture, flavor, and consistency.
From Food Truck to Popular Restaurant Brand
MELT first gained attention in Birmingham as a food truck serving grilled cheese sandwiches near Railroad Park. It later expanded into brick-and-mortar locations, including a popular restaurant in Avondale that became known for its casual atmosphere and comfort food menu.
