Dream Flavors, known for its mobile ice cream trucks, has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in downtown Birmingham.
From Food Trucks to a Permanent Location
Dream Flavors recently celebrated the grand opening of its first storefront after years of operating as a traveling ice cream business.
Owner Walter Baldwin built the brand over more than eight years using a trailer, a converted school bus, and a van before expanding into a physical shop.
The new location sits in downtown Birmingham on 2nd Avenue North, across from Helen and Bayonet. The opening marks a major milestone for the local business as it transitions from mobile service to a permanent dessert destination.
Wide Variety of Ice Cream Flavors
The shop features a rotating menu of more than 30 ice cream flavors. The selection includes classic favorites, seasonal-inspired recipes, and dairy-free or gluten-free options. Popular offerings range from strawberry shortcake and cake batter to pecan pie, blueberry cheesecake, and chocolate-based flavors.
The menu also includes specialty creations such as lavender honey, maple bourbon bacon, and espresso-inspired blends.
Customers can expect frequent rotation to keep the selection fresh and varied throughout the year.
Location and Daily Hours
Dream Flavors operates at 2014 2nd Avenue North in Birmingham’s downtown district. The shop is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The opening has generated strong local interest as residents welcome another locally owned dessert option to the growing downtown food scene.
