Pink Lantern opens Downtown Birmingham spot for coffee, events, and more

Pink Lantern, a new coffee shop and event space, has opened in downtown Birmingham, bringing a unique daytime and evening experience.

A Unique Coffee and Event Concept

According to online reports, Pink Lantern was developed by local entrepreneurs Clay Freeman and Danny Le. The space operates as a coffee shop during the day, offering traditional Vietnamese-style coffee, espresso drinks, and baked goods from local vendors. Mid-century furnishings, vintage décor, and vibrant pink walls give the café a distinctive atmosphere.

Transforming Into an Evening Event Space

In an interview, the owners explained that at 4PM each day, the space transitions into an event venue. Tables and chairs are rearranged to create a dance floor and stage area for performances, themed events, and community gatherings. Lighting also changes to signal the shift from coffee shop to event space.

Designed for Community and Connection

Freeman and Le aimed to make Pink Lantern a welcoming destination for all. The venue supports both daytime relaxation and evening entertainment, creating a versatile environment for socializing, enjoying creative programming, and connecting with the local community.

Location: 2400 1st Ave N Suite 1, Birmingham, AL 35203
