The Housing Authority of the Birmingham District (HABD) will host a job fair on Monday aimed at connecting qualified candidates with employment opportunities, including individuals affected by recent layoffs at Central Alabama Water.
Job Fair Details and Opportunities
The Maintenance Technician Employment Fair is designed to help attendees explore careers that support the communities served by HABD. Participants can expect same-day interviews, direct interaction with HABD staff, and information on compensation, benefits, and long-term career pathways. The authority is recruiting for a range of roles across property management, administration, resident services, and other operational areas.
Event Requirements and Registration
The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Birmingham Career Center. Candidates are required to complete an online application in advance in order to be considered for employment. Applications and additional information are available through the HABD website.
Additional City Job Opportunities
In addition to HABD openings, the City of Birmingham is currently accepting applications for multiple positions, including roles in automotive maintenance, civil engineering, public safety, fleet operations, landscaping, legal services, and urban forestry. Available positions include firefighter, fire paramedic, police officer, civil engineer, maintenance mechanic, plumber, painter, magistrate, and senior attorney, among others.
