Hoover has a sweet new addition as Cake me Up officially opens its doors, bringing traditional Brazilian desserts and handcrafted baked goods to the area.
A Passion for Brazilian Baking
Cake me Up opened on July 25, 2026, at The Shoppes at Hwy 150 Crossings. The bakery is owned by Chef Viviane, a native of Minas Gerais, Brazil, who turned her passion for baking cakes for family, friends, and neighbors into a full-time business.
The shop introduces Birmingham-area customers to a variety of authentic Brazilian desserts alongside familiar bakery favorites.
Traditional Treats and Fresh Coffee
The menu features artisan cakes, including the popular cake-in-a-can, as well as fresh coffee and several traditional Brazilian specialties.
Customers can enjoy brigadeiro, a classic Brazilian sweet made with condensed milk, cocoa powder, and chocolate sprinkles, along with pão de queijo, the country’s famous baked cheese bread. The bakery also offers a rotating selection of other desserts and specialty treats.

Cake me Up is located at 5190 Medford Drive, Suite 124, in The Shoppes at Hwy 150 Crossings. The shopping center is also home to several restaurants and retail businesses.
The bakery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
