One of Birmingham’s most popular barbecue restaurants is expanding once again with a new location planned for Valley Post along the U.S. 280 corridor.
Seventh Metro Location Announced
SAW’s BBQ has announced plans to open its seventh Birmingham-area restaurant at Valley Post, a mixed-use development located at 1004 Dunnavant Valley Road. The expansion will bring the restaurant’s signature smoked meats and Alabama white sauce to one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.
Founded in 2009 by the late Mike “Sorry Ass” Wilson, SAW’s has grown from a neighborhood barbecue restaurant into one of Alabama’s best-known dining brands. Today, the company operates locations in Homewood, Avondale, Crestline, Hoover, Leeds, and Birmingham’s Southside, along with its mobile food trailer.
Classic Barbecue Favorites Coming to U.S. 280
The new restaurant will serve many of the dishes that have made SAW’s a local favorite. Guests can expect pulled pork, smoked chicken, loaded baked potatoes, award-winning wings, Southern-style side dishes, and the restaurant’s well-known Alabama white sauce.
The addition gives residents along the U.S. 280 corridor another option for locally owned barbecue while expanding SAW’s presence across the Birmingham metro.
Reviving Valley Post’s Restaurant Lineup
SAW’s will become one of the newest tenants at Valley Post following several restaurant closures at the development earlier this year. The shopping and dining destination originally opened in late 2025 with multiple restaurant concepts.
The new barbecue restaurant will join Waldo’s Chicken & Beer, which has also announced plans to open a location at Valley Post.
An official opening date has not yet been announced. SAW’s BBQ says it will share additional details, including grand opening information, through its social media channels.
