Yummy Bowl Mongolian Stir-Fry & Sushi is expanding with a second Birmingham-area restaurant on Highway 280 this fall.
Yummy Bowl Expanding to Highway 280
The new Yummy Bowl will open at River Ridge Shopping Center at 4606 U.S. Highway 280. The restaurant is located near Dollar Tree, World Market, and Academy Sports.
A sign for the restaurant is already up at the new storefront. Staff at the original Homewood location said the Highway 280 restaurant is expected to open in late October.
The Homewood restaurant is located off Lakeshore Parkway and currently serves Birmingham-area customers.
What to Expect at Yummy Bowl
Yummy Bowl combines Mongolian-style stir-fry with a large sushi selection. Customers can also create their own bowls with different ingredients.
The menu includes a Build Your Bowl option with a variety of meats and vegetables. Guests can also choose from about three dozen sushi dishes.
Stir-fried rice and noodles are also available. The mix of customizable bowls, sushi, and hot entrees gives diners several options in one visit.
River Ridge Shopping Center Continues to Change
The Yummy Bowl opening adds another restaurant to the changing River Ridge Shopping Center.
The shopping center has seen several retail changes in recent years. Painted Tree, a vendor-based home décor business, closed its Highway 280 location in April 2026 after a short run.
The shopping center also welcomed major retailers in 2024. Marshalls and Academy Sports took over spaces previously occupied by Nordstrom Rack and Staples.
With Yummy Bowl expected to open in late October, the Highway 280 corridor will soon have another dining option.
