A new children’s play space and community venue, Burrow & Bloom, is opening soon on historic Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham. Designed as a creative, family-friendly destination, the venue invites kids to explore imaginative play while parents relax in a calm, welcoming environment.
A New Kind of Family Space
Burrow & Bloom is the creation of husband-and-wife team Sydney and Patrick Foote, who transformed the former Heidi Elnora Atelier bridal boutique into a space that combines play and community. The first floor features a hands-on “kids’ village,” while the second floor serves as an elegant event venue for weddings, parties, and gatherings.
Unlike large, high-energy play centers, Burrow & Bloom focuses on a slower pace. Its design encourages learning, creativity, and meaningful interaction for both children and parents.
Inside the Kids’ Village
The main play area resembles a small town, complete with a playhouse, schoolroom, local business, and reading nook. Each space has been hand-built and furnished with interactive toys, books, and child-sized furniture. Children can pretend to cook in a mini kitchen, run a bakery with felt pastries, or learn in a classroom filled with educational materials.
Parents can join in or unwind nearby. The venue includes comfortable seating, a coffee bar, and quiet areas for meetings or conversation. A fully equipped diaper station and private nursing area make the space convenient for caregivers as well.
Grand Opening Celebration
Burrow & Bloom will host its grand opening on Saturday, November 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2024 Morris Avenue. The event will feature coffee and baked goods from Bandit Patisserie, balloon art, raffle prizes, and exclusive membership discounts.
Families can enjoy $100 off birthday party packages booked during the grand opening. Each package includes 2.5 hours of private access to the play village for up to 30 children.
Memberships and daily passes are available, with options starting at $30 per child for single-day visits and discounted monthly and yearly family rates.
