Satterfield’s Restaurant to close after 21 years

Satterfield’s Restaurant will close on April 18, ending its 21-year run as a fine dining staple in the Birmingham area. The restaurant confirmed the closure in a social media announcement after deciding not to renew its lease.

Longtime Fine Dining Destination

Satterfield’s Restaurant opened in 2005 and became a well-known Vestavia Hills restaurant for upscale dining with a relaxed atmosphere. It built a strong following for seasonal menus, wood-grilled entrées, and signature desserts that drew guests from across the metro area.

Chef Becky Satterfield founded the restaurant and helped shape its identity around approachable fine dining. Her vision emphasized high-quality ingredients served in a comfortable, welcoming setting that appealed to both casual diners and special-occasion guests.

Signature Dishes and Local Reputation

The restaurant earned a reputation for standout menu items, including its well-known beignets served with sautéed apples and vanilla ice cream. Over time, it became a popular choice for date nights and celebrations, earning local recognition and awards for its dining experience.

Community Response and Final Service

The closure announcement prompted an outpouring of support from longtime customers who reflected on memories made at the restaurant. Many described it as a meaningful part of Birmingham’s dining culture over the past two decades.

Satterfield’s Restaurant will continue serving guests through April 18, giving the community a final opportunity to visit before it closes.
