Downtown Birmingham will soon welcome a new dining option as Road to Burma prepares to open at the Pizitz Food Hall.
Grand Opening Set for August 1
Road to Burma is scheduled to open on August 1, 2026, adding another locally owned concept to the popular downtown food hall.
The restaurant will offer both dine-in and takeout service for customers exploring Birmingham’s growing food scene.
Its arrival expands the variety of international cuisine available at the Pizitz Food Hall, which recently announced it will now operate seven days a week.
Showcasing Traditional Myanmar Flavors
Road to Burma describes itself as Birmingham’s first restaurant dedicated to traditional cuisine from Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. The Southeast Asian country borders India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand, and its cuisine reflects influences from each of those neighboring regions.
While the full menu has not yet been released, diners can expect a selection of noodles, soups, salads, appetizers, sushi, and other Southeast Asian dishes.
Expanding Downtown Dining Options
The addition of Road to Burma continues the growth of Birmingham’s diverse restaurant scene and brings another unique culinary experience to downtown.
Located inside the Pizitz Food Hall, the restaurant will give residents and visitors an opportunity to explore authentic Myanmar-inspired dishes without leaving the city.
